Erdington stabbing police appeal after man knifed off busy high street


Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knifed just off Erdington High Street. Police and paramedics were called to Coton Lane at around 3.15pm on Tuesday, September 10, where they found the victim.

The man, said to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital. He was not believed to have suffered life-changing injuries and remained in a stable condition today, Wednesday, September 11.

Police sealed off the road and a forensic examination was conducted. A cordon which was in place in Coton Lane was later lifted.

Police appealed to anyone with information to contact officers. A statement said: "CCTV from around the area is being retrieved and reviewed as we work to establish what happened and trace who is responsible.

"Investigators have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and would urge anyone we've not yet spoken with, but who believes they can help, to come forward. We'd also ask that anyone who has any dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to get in contact with us."
