Eruptive Activity Continues at Kilauea Volcano

The US Geological Survey released footage showing continuous eruptive activity at Kilauea Volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island.

The USGS said the active lava was limited to Halemaumau Crater, with lava erupting from a vent on its northwest side. The western, active portion of the lake in Halemaumau was about 212 meters (696 feet) deep as of Thursday, February 4, “with the eastern portion of the lava lake solidified at the surface.” Credit: USGS Volcanoes via Storyful
