Escape to the Chateau's Dick and Angel Strawbridge supported after special family update
Dick and Angel Strawbridge were flooded with support as they shared a special update. The Escape to the Chateau stars have been married since 2015 and share two children together.
The couple's efforts to restore a derelict 19th century chateau in France captured the hearts of fans of the hit Channel 4 programme. They called time on their hit programme after nine series in 2022 so their children could grow up without the constant presence of cameras in their lives.
Dick and Angel still keep fans updated with their lives away from the screen on Instagram. They have taken to the social media platform to reveal this week marked a special occassion as they celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary.
In a post with their followers, they said: "We never get bored looking through old pictures...it brings back so many memories! 9 years ago today we ate, drank and partied into the wee hours of the morning with our dearest friends and family...it was amazing...
Fans took to the comments to send messages of support after the special update. Rachel said: "Happy anniversary Dick & Angel" Jeff commented: "I loved the show! Happy anniversary"
Anne added: "Happy anniversary, miss you all on the tv." Kathy posted: "Happy Anniversary to you both." Dick and Angel said they were reminded of their anniversary by Dick's eldest son, James Strawbridge.
They added: "Just by coincidence yesterday we noticed James using our wedding tea towel invitation...it was a lovely surprise and so glad to see it in use! Have a fabulous Thursday and for those coming to see us later In Bournemouth...we get to celebrate together!"
James is Dick's eldest son from his relationship from his previous marriage. Dick and Angel are currently touring the country with their new live show, Forever Home.
James joined them for the leg of the tour this week as he shared an update alongside the family. He said: "Had a fantastic time last night with @strawbridge.dick & family @escape_to_the_chateau watching their Forever Home tour @hall_for_cornwall Thanks Dad, Angela, Arthur & Dorothy - it was great fun! They’ve still got a few dates left before they head home…
Dick and Angel brought the tour to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall last month. They spoke to the ECHO ahead of the show and said how much they love coming to Liverpool.
Dick told the ECHO in an exclusive interview: "[Liverpudlians are] bigger than big. I am Northern Irish. We come from a community where everybody speaks, everybody listens and everybody joins in at the same time. There's that much energy in the room and that's exactly what Liverpool is like as well."
Angela said she always loves the chance to interact with Scousers. The 46-year-old, who hails from East London, told the ECHO: "One of the best hen parties I ever did was with about 30 Liverpudlian ladies. They came down and I did a big tea party for them."
However, Angel laughed as she revealed she needed to get to grips with one aspect of Liverpudlian culture. She said: "I was doing their vintage make up and they asked 'Can I have a Scousebrow?'
"I was like, 'what's a Scousebrow' because I'm all about the baguette brow. So I did these really thick, wonderful eyebrows. I did it on 30 of the girls and I just remember they were so warm and so energetic. They were so real and it was just absolutely brilliant. We love Liverpool. What's not to love about it?"
