Escape to the Country buyer issues four-word response as search comes to abrupt end
Escape to the Country buyer ended a property viewing just minutes into the search as she insisted “no point carrying on”.
During Monday’s (February 3) episode of the BBC hit show, Denise Nurse was joined by couple Phil and Jo, who had decided to up and leave London after 25 years for a quieter way of life in the woodland trails of Hampshire.
The duo had a budget of £625,00 for a three-bedroom property with plenty of character. It was important that the home was in a village location with country walks and a train station to commute to London.

Speaking more about what they wanted, Phil said: “Hopefully, there’ll be a local pub or somewhere where we can meet some of the locals and start to fit in with the community. We’re hoping it’ll be just the perfect way to spend our retirement years."
Denise went all out and set up a number of homes to view; however, it was one property that stood out. The thatched and detached Wiltshire cottage had everything the pair were looking for. It came with three double bedrooms, a cosy reception and an additional sunroom.
To make things even better, Denise revealed that the home was under their budget as it was on the market for £600,000.
It was clear the couple were blown away and were ready to put an offer in as Jo said: “Wow. Right, that’s it, then. No point carrying on.”
Phil continued: “I’m feeling very excited, to be honest. It’s got everything we hoped for. It’s got character in spades, and the garden is lovely.”
Jo went on to say: “We hoped for a thatched house but I don’t think I expected one to be as nice as this within our budgets, so I’m absolutely delighted.”
Grateful for Denise's help during their search, Jo added: “Love Denise. We loved her before. We said before that we loved her before and she’s our favourite. Phil added: “She’s always been our favourite presenter, but she is even higher up now.”
Despite falling in love with the property, the couple decided not to make an offer because they revealed that they hadn’t sold their current home.
Phil admitted: “We haven’t got an offer on our place that we’re selling. As soon as we do, then that will be a very real possibility to move, yes.
