Escape To The Country's Jules Hudson admits 'one thing concerns me' as he issues stark warning ahead of property search

Escape To The Country's Jules Hudson expressed his apprehensions early in Monday's (14 October) episode.

The 54-year-old host was on a mission to find the perfect spot in North Wales for Jo and Nick, a couple from Reading, Berkshire, who were dreaming of setting up a wellness retreat complete with yoga and sound baths in the tranquil countryside.

With a generous budget of £600,000, they were on the hunt for a detached home boasting two to four bedrooms, an acre of land, stunning rural views, and the potential for a holiday let or studio space.

Kicking off the show, Jules enthused: "Well, today's couple loves outdoor sports and nature, so no surprise they want to come here to North Wales, regarded by many as the adventure capital of Europe. As for the nature and the views, I think they speak for themselves," reports Wales Online.

But he didn't take long to voice his concerns, saying: "One thing that concerns me is that they have been looking for a property for a very long time, so what are we going to do that they haven't already done?"

By the end of the episode, it emerged that Jo and Nick were holding off on making any offers in North Wales until they had secured a buyer for their own property.

This development followed another Escape To The Country episode where a couple encountered a significant setback with their ideal home.

During the Friday (October 11) episode of the beloved BBC show, Steve Brown embarked on a quest to help a couple find their dream Cornwall home, as they confessed that living beside a bustling road was making them "miserable".

Graphic designer Michael and his wife Jackie, a library assistant, were eager to begin anew in Cornwall, a place where they've enjoyed numerous joyous family holidays.

Having met 41 years ago in an art studio, the pair expressed their desire to downsize from their Hertfordshire home now that their three children have grown up.

With a budget of £750,000, they were on the lookout for a property brimming with light, boasting at least three bedrooms for family visits, a spacious kitchen/diner, and crucially, a studio space for Jackie's painting and a garage for Michael.

Steve set up several property viewings and made sure they had everything the pair was looking for. One home stood out to the couple; however, there was one big problem.

The TV host brought the couple to a Georgian home in Roscroggan, which had a long drive. Built in 1820 from granite with a slate roof, the house boasted a bright triple-aspect kitchen, great period features, and lots of grandeur.

The property also came with half an acre of garden and planning permission for a double garage with a studio above. It was priced under budget at £700,000, but the couple were quick to notice that it was next to a busy road, which they were not willing to compromise on.

Despite their love for the property, the couple decided not to put an offer in on that one or the other houses they viewed during their time on the show, so their search for their dream home continues.

Escape To The Country airs on weekdays at 3pm on BBC One.
