A woman has told of the terrifying moment an escaped pitbull burst into her bedroom and attacked her and her pet poodle.

Luisa Cieslak said she desperately tried to defend her pet but ended up hearing it being killed in her bedroom.

The attack reportedly happened after the 61-year-old, from London, left her back door open.

Luisa told The Sun that the pitbull ran into her house and launched a terrifying 45-minute attack on her and her eight-year-old poodle Cha Cha.

She told the newspaper she tried to pick her pet up to protect her, but the dog grabbed her, leaving Luisa with multiple wounds to her hands.

To escape, she locked the dog in her bedroom and called the police – but then claimed she heard Cha Cha being killed inside as she waited for help to arrive.

“It was the most terrifying moment of my life,” she said. “I thought the dog was going to kill me.”

Police have confirmed that they were called on Saturday, September 15, to a report that a dog had attacked and killed another dog. The dog was seized under Section One of the Dangerous Dog Act.

Luisa and her family are calling for its owners to be arrested.
