An Essex leisure centre has finally reopened its flumes after they were predicted to be ready for use for October half-term. Leisure World Colchester is thrilled to announce that its flumes have now reopened, following an extensive period of maintenance and improvement.

Visitors can once again look forward to the thrilling water slides that have been a favourite among families and adventure-seekers alike. The temporary closure, which began in July, allowed Leisure World to invest significantly in the facility.

This included a complete relining of the internal surface of the flumes to enhance the rider experience. This essential work will ensure that guests enjoy a smoother, faster, and even more exciting ride.

Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure, said: “We are delighted to announce that the flumes will be ready to splash back into action. This investment not only improves safety and the quality of the rides but also ensures our visitors have the best experience possible."

The news comes after Leisure World Colchester has announced the temporary closure of its flumes for urgent repair work to take place over the summer, following a routine health and safety check in July. This work is part of an overall investment aimed at enhancing the fun and safety of the Leisure Pool facilities, ensuring that visitors have even more reasons to enjoy their time at Leisure World.
