The Essex school that educated celebs like Ross Kemp and TOWIE stars Ferne McCann and Sam and Billie Faiers
With plenty of celebrities coming out of our county, pretty much every Essex school has had some famous names pass through its education system. From actors and TV personalities to sportspeople and politicians, this Shenfield school has some very famous alumni.
Shenfield High School, a secondary school and sixth form in Shenfield, Essex, has a school roll of 1200, with 300 of those enrolled as sixth formers. Founded in 1962, the school has a deep-rooted tradition of providing a rounded educational experience for students supported by a strong set of values.
At Shenfield High School, teachers 'encourage everyone to have the highest expectations of themselves and each other so that learning is always at the centre of what we do', they say. It also classes itself as a confident, ambitious and purposeful school, which emphasises high aspirations, mutual respect and learning as a lifelong journey.

It is no surprise that some of its alumni have gone on to become intensely famous and successful - in many different fields. One big name that was educated at Shenfield was Ross Kemp - a actor, presenter, journalist and author.
Barking-born Kemp rose to fame by starring in Eastenders as hard-man Grant Mitchell in 1990. Ross achieved many awards during his stint on Albert Square, with 2 Best Actor wins in 1999 and another in 2006. He also won awards for his investigative journalism work. These include Ross Kemp on Gangs, Ross Kemp in Afganistan and Extreme World: India.
Similarly, famous TOWIE sisters Sam and Billie Faiers also attended Shenfield High. The pair have also featured on their TV show, The Mummy Diaries, Sam on Celebrity Big Brother and Billie on Dancing on Ice.
In a different vein of fame, TV presenter and journalist Richard Madeley attended Shenfield High School 50 years ago. He is best known for presenting This Morning and Richard and Judy, alongside his wife.
MP Philip Hammond was his classmate, too. Philip Hammond MP saw his fame in politics, and was Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2016 to 2019 under Prime Minister Theresa May.
Another TOWIE star to have walked through the school halls is Ferne McCann. Since appearing on the hit ITV show, Ferne has appeared on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, finishing third in 2015.
