Ethiopian PM refuses dialogue with Tigrayan party amid unrest

Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has refused dialogue with the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) after meeting with peace envoys from the African Union. The TPLF dominated Ethiopian politics for decades before anti-government protests swept Abiy to office in 2018. Meanwhile, there is increasing concern over the humanitarian situation in eastern Sudan, where 40,000 Ethiopian refugees are staying in camps.
