Euphoria season 3 gets exciting update

Euphoria season 3 has received an exciting update from the head of HBO.

The second season of the edgy teen drama, starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney, premiered all the way back in January 2022. Between last year's strikes and the cast members' busy schedules, season 2 hasn't gotten off the ground yet.

It was previously reported that production had been scheduled for early 2025, but recent rumours claimed things had changed. However, speaking at a HBO/Max press event, network head Casey Bloys said things are still going ahead as planned.

"We are shooting Euphoria," he said (via Variety). "I think we have a start date, mid to late January.

"Nothing's changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started.

"We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We're happy. We're moving ahead. All of the actors are in the show."

Season 3 is set to feature a time-jump to explain why the actors will have aged since the first batch of episodes.

"With the time-jump, it's a new process for me," Sweeney told Cosmopolitan of the move forward in time.

"I'm kind of just learning as I go and being open for whatever's to come. But I'm also really excited. I love Cassie. She is always such a thrilling character to play, so I'm really looking forward to what's gonna happen in her life," she added.

Sweeney also explained that she was very excited to reunite with everyone else who works on the show.

"They were the crew and the cast that were there at the beginning of my career," she said. "We all came up from different places but came together and were navigating so much at the same time, so it's really nice having that core group," she added.

"They're experiencing a similarity to what I’m going through. It’s nice to have that community."

Euphoria airs on HBO and streams on Max in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and Sky Go/NOW in the UK.
