EuroMillions UK winner who won £170million jackpot comes forward to claim prize

A ticket holder who won a record £170 million EuroMillions jackpot prize on Tuesday has finally come forward.

On Thursday, National Lottery operator Camelot announced the lucky ticket holder had stepped forward to scoop the jackpot, which is the biggest in UK history.

The winning ticket matched all five main numbers - 07, 10, 15, 44, 49 - plus two lucky stars, 03 and 12.

Camelot announced the huge jackpot has been scooped by a UK player on October 8 on Twitter.

The operator previously said the £170 million winner would have a dedicated winners’ adviser to validate the ticket, pay out their prize and help guide the new winner as they “start their adventure with their life-changing win”.

The jackpot scoop means the ticket holder is now richer than Ed Sheeran - worth £160million - and Adele, who is worth around £150million.

In June of this year, a lucky winner scooped £123 million - but never revealed their identity.

Camelot would not say whether it was an individual winner or a syndicate.

The previous biggest UK winners were Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs in North Ayrshire, Scotland, who won £161 million in July 2011.

The couple divorced “amicably” in 2019 and confirmed in a statement that they had been living apart “for some time”.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said: “Players all across the country are urged to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“As always, the team are on hand to support and help guide the new winner as they start their adventure with their life-changing win.”
