Eurostar cancellations: December 2019 strike dates affecting London to Paris trains

Eurostar trains have been cancelled in December as public sector workers in France take part in massive nationwide strikes.

Mass walkouts are taking place as workers protest over proposed pension reforms which they fear will shrink their pensions and make them work longer.

The strikes - which have hit transport networks across the country the hardest - have brought France to a near standstill, causing traffic chaos with thousands of passengers affected.

Eurostar has been forced to run on a reduced timetable as rail company workers take part in the mass strikes, with services to Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Brussels affected.

What dates are affected?

The strike is running indefinitely throughout December, with Eurostar trains cancelled from Monday, December 9 until Thursday, December 12.

How many Eurostar services have been cancelled?

In total, 52 trains have been cancelled across the week, including 20 cancelled services on Monday.

Seven trains from London to Paris and seven from Paris to London will not run on December 9.

A further 19 trains have been cancelled on December 10, including seven from London to Paris and seven the other way.

Eight trains will not run either way between London and Paris on December 11 and five on December 12.
