Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder is coming to Leicester as part of a new tour around England. The Space Man singer, who also graced the city's BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Park last year, will perform some new material as part of the gig.

Sam, who almost won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, will be at Leicester's O2 Arena on Saturday, December 7. The performance is part of a six-date tour around "intimate" venues throughout December over nine days, including in nearby Stoke.

Tour organisers said: "As a Brit nominee and standout British breakthrough artist of 2022, Sam is excited to offer his ever-growing fanbase a sneak peek at new material and a glimpse into what he’s been working on."

They added that Sam is known for his "dynamic performances and natural stage presence". Since being released, Sam's single Space Man has hone platinum and became one of the biggest selling tracks of 2022. Tour organisers said this solidified "his status as a household name and one of the UK’s brightest stars".

Sam's December tour includes performances in Hastings, Bournemouth, Stockton, Oxford, and Stoke as well as Leicester. It's in a move to visit the towns and cities that missed out on the chance to see him perform this summer, according to organisers.

The O2 Arena in Leicester is on University Road, on the University of Leicester campus. Tickets for the gig are available through the Ticketmaster, See Tickets and Songkick websites.
