Evacuation Ordered as New Wildfire Grows to 100 Acres Near Colfax, California

A new vegetation fire spread to 100 acres within hours at a campground near Colfax, California, on Wednesday, August 4, as the state’s northeastern region remained under a red flag warning for critical fire weather.

An evacuation order and warnings were issued near the city of Colfax on Wednesday afternoon, according to Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
