Evacuation Orders Remain in Place as Mountain Fire Continues to Burn in Northern California

The Mountain Fire burning in Siskiyou County, California, covered 12,365 acres and was 60 percent contained as of Sunday, September 11, according to Cal Fire.

In an update posted to Twitter, Cal Fire said the fire was active overnight as wind gusts over 30 mph and dry conditions lead to uphill runs and short-range spotting.

Footage posted to Twitter by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office shows the fire burning in a wooded area.
