Evacuations Ordered as Telegraph Fire Burns More Than 61,000 Acres

Arizona’s Telegraph Fire had grown to 61,211 acres and was zero percent contained on June 7, with several areas ordered to evacuate, officials said.

In a statement, the Tonto National Forest division of the US Forest Service said the fire was “showing active growth today” and was “burning in abnormally dry and continuous surface fuels.” They added that the cause of the fire was human, and was under investigation.
