Evacuations Ordered as Wildfire Threatens Homes in Castlegar, British Columbia

Evacuations were ordered after a wildfire broke out near Castlegar, British Columbia, on July 1.

According to the Castlegar Emergency Operations Centre, the fire within city limits was contained as of 3:30 pm, the City of Castlegar said.

The blaze was an estimated 15 hectares in size at around 7:15 pm, according to local firefighting authorities.
