Everton star Iliman Ndiaye makes fearful Leicester City admission
Everton goalscorer Iliman Ndiaye admitted he was fearful of Leicester City becoming the third straight side to come from behind and beat the Toffees.
Arriving at the King Power Stadium after giving up 2-0 leads to lose 3-2 in each of their previous two matches, Everton took an early advantage through Ndiaye, with Stephy Mavididi scoring an equaliser with around 20 minutes to go. From there to full-time, City were most likely to grab a winner.
But while the losses to Bournemouth and Aston Villa played on Everton minds, City couldn’t take advantage. In fact, they had just three further shots, with none testing Jordan Pickford. Facundo Buonanotte’s blocked drive was the closest they came to adding a second.

“That’s what we were thinking about,” Ndiaye told Everton’s official site. “We’re winning and suddenly they’re catching up and maybe could have won the game. They created chances but I wouldn’t say more than us. We need to finish our chances to put the game to bed and really stay focused until the last whistle blows.
“We haven’t been picking up points. Today was really important to get a win. But we leave the game with a draw. We’ll reflect on what’s gone bad and what’s gone well, and try to get the three points in the next game.”
The result means both sides are among the six that remain winless in the Premier League after five matches. City sit the highest of the bunch at the moment, with three points to their name, two clear of the drop zone.
