Premier League champions Liverpool are looking to bounce back this Saturday in the first Merseyside derby of this season at Goodison Park.

Liverpool will have to be wary of one of Europe’s hottest strikers in Dominic Calvert-Lewin in order to maintain their 22-match unbeaten run in games against the old enemy from across Stanley Park.

Against no side have they ever had a longer run without defeat in their history.

However, Everton remain top of the table three points ahead of the Reds, having won four out of four this term, going into the derby in the best form they’ve been in for many a season with the Ancelotti factor starting to kick in.

Everything you need to know:

How to watch the game

Even though fans will not be able to watch the game at the stadium, they are able to watch it on BT Sport 1 at 12.30pm. For customers it can be streamed via the BT Sport website and BT Sport app.

Team news

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be making his return off the back of scoring on his senior International debut, making a deadly front three alongside Richarlison and James Rodriguez, who will undoubtedly test Liverpool’s back four.

After conceding seven goals in their last outing before the International break against Aston Villa, Liverpool will be looking to rectify their worrying defence, with Joe Gomez possibly being replaced with the versatile Brazilian Fabinho potentially filling the spot.

Either one is guaranteed to be paired with Virgil van Dijk, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are definite starters at full back.

However, Adrian is set to remain in goal as Alisson is still out with an injury.

Liverpool have regained midfielder Thiago Alcantara and striker Sadio Mane, having completed their respective periods of self-isolation after both testing positive for coronavirus and have now returned negative results.

Klopp is expected to opt for his usual front three with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino up top with Mane.

Everton’s new signing Ben Godfrey will be ready to reprise an old role for them at right back having joined from Norwich City last week for £20m but has said to be happy to fill any spot.

The fitness of Seamus Coleman is still unclear, and with Jonjoe Kenny likely to be sidelined until the end of the month, Godfrey is likely to be part of the starting line up on Saturday.

The Toffees have also recently signed goalkeeper Robin Olsen, raising questions as to whether Ancelotti will replace England’s No 1 Jordan Pickford after a number of errors in previous matches.

Predicted line-ups

Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Mina, Keane, Digne; Doucoure, Allan, Gomes; Rodriguez, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mane, Firmino, Salah.

Prediction

Liverpool will be determined to bounce back from defeat to Villa. Everton 1-3 Liverpool.
