Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's whirlwind romance took the world by storm, but after just nine months of dating, the couple have reportedly gone their separate ways.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that "the spark between" Kardashian and Davidson just "faded" over time.

According to the insider, the former Saturday Night Live comedian is "so sweet," but Kardashians "didn't feel ready for something serious with him."

Ultimately, the SKIMS mogul—who had recently filed for a divorce from Kanye West in February 2021—wasn't ready to jump into another serious commitment. "They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date," the insider explained. "Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he's the nicest and sweetest guy in the world and there's no drama or anything weird between them now."

Kardashian initially didn't think that dating Davidson would turn into a real relationship. "She felt like Pete was the extreme opposite of Kanye and it was good for her then," the source added. "She initially thought it would be a fun fling, but then it got more serious when they were spending so much time together. Kim wasn't feeling like she was willing to settle down with him just yet."

Reports of the couple's breakup first emerged last Friday. Dealing with their busy schedules and doing long distance now that Davidson is filming a project in Australia, "made it really difficult to maintain a relationship," a source told E! at the time.
