Everything you need to know about Meghan Markle's blog
It's been a busy few months for Meghan Markle, what with her and Prince Harry's bombshell docu-series landing on Netflix and daughter Lilibet's christening. And things are only going to get busier, as the Duchess of Sussex is set to relaunch her much-loved lifestyle blog: The Tig.
The Tig was Meghan's "passion project", a place where she shared advice and recommendations on everything from food to health and wellness. But, shortly before her engagement to Prince Harry, The Tig closed its proverbial doors, with Meghan writing in her final post: "After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig."
Now, however, it looks like that goodbye will soon become a hello. Documents filed to the US Patent and Trademark Office, and seen by the New York Post, indicate that the website may earmarked for a relaunch. With that in mind, here's everything you need to know about Meghan's blog, The Tig...
What is The Tig?
Meghan's lifestyle blog, The Tig – named after her favourite wine, Tignanello – initially launched in 2014 but was shut down in 2017, just months before her engagement to Harry and her official entrance into royal life.
"After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig," the Duchess wrote in her final post, The Tig: Farewell, Darling.
"What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy," she went on.
"Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being 'the change you wish to see in the world.' Above all, don’t ever forget your worth – as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything."
What content will be on The Tig?
Much like the lifestyle content covered on the OG blog, The Tig 2.0 is expected – according to those all important documents – to feature articles and interviews covering "food, cooking, recipes, travel, relationships, fashion, style, interior design, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, health and wellness."
Insiders who spoke to The Mirror claimed that Meghan hopes The Tig will rival the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop site, perhaps best known for its orgasm-scented candles.
When will The Tig relaunch?
There's no official relaunch date for The Tig just yet, but The Mirror's sources claim that the site could be going live as soon as next week. Other reports, however, point out that it's unlikely we'll see any content on The Tig until the trademark application is approved. So, in other words: watch this space!
