Paul O’Grady is back with an abundance of cute dogs as he travels to India for a new series.

The presenter travelled to India last year for a series on wild animals and loved the country so much that he decided to return to meet some more furry friends.

O’Grady adores the country, beaming in the trailer: “I haven’t been to a place in a long time that’s excited me so much as India. It’s just alive.”

What is Paul O’Grady: For The Love Of Dogs - India?

In this short series, O’Grady is swapping Battersea Dogs’ Home in London for Dehli in India as he meets some of the people who care for sick and abandoned dogs in the country.

India is home to around 30 million dogs with an estimated 400,000 on the streets, and O’Grady has the chance to meet just a handful of them.

What happens in the first episode?

In the first of four half-hour programmes, O’Grady meets a little puppy with a potentially deadly virus as well as a Golden Retriever who keeps chewing his paw.

The 62-year-old also gets stuck in as he helps rescue a litter of newborns from disarray after being born in the grounds of Lodhi Gardens.
