'Everything's Gone': Homeowner Left With 'Nothing' After Deadly Flooding Hits Waverly, Tennessee

A man in Waverly, Tennessee, returned home on Sunday, August 22, only to find “no sign” of his house after deadly flooding hit the area the previous day.

Raymond Hill, founder of Recovery Warriors whatwasisnomore, recorded a video of him inspecting the damages after the flooding on Saturday. In this video, his truck is overturned and on top of pieces of debris and wood outside a house.

“Still no sign of the house,” Hill said in this video. “At this point, everything’s gone, no clothes, no nothing. Absolutely nothing.”

Several people were reported missing by local authorities on August 24 after Saturday’s floods left at least 21 dead.

The flooding was brought about by record rainfall in the area, with an estimated 17 inches of rain falling at nearby McEwen. The rainfall broke the 24-hour record for the state, according to the National Weather Service. Credit: Recovery Warriors whatwasisnomore via Storyful
