Ewan McGregor's wife 'heartbroken and furious' at his fling with Fargo co-star

Last week Ewan McGregor was pictured kissing his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a London diner, and now it has been reported that his wife, Eve Mavrakis, is understandably “furious” as she had welcomed Mary Elizabeth into her and Ewan’s family home just months earlier.

Eve met the 32-year-old actress for dinner after she and Ewan were both cast in the US TV show, and she had no idea that things were hotting up between the two stars.

Friends of the 51 year old now say that Eve has been left heartbroken and is angry that her 22-year marriage the the Moulin Rouge! star has been ruined.

A source told The Sun: “She is doing her best to handle it with dignity but what makes it worse is she has been told Mary Elizabeth had a teenage crush on Ewan.

“I’m sure a lot of people did but they didn’t go and have an affair with him.”

The insider continued: “Mary went to the house once and met Eve and the kids over dinner. She was very cordial. It seemed logical she should get to know Ewan and the family.”

Ewan and Mary Elizabeth started filming Fargo in Calgary, Canada, in January, with Ewan and Eve’s marriage said to have “abruptly” hit the rocks over the summer, with it reportedly “clear” that the pair had grown close when Ewan returned home from shooting.

A source explained: “Eve wanted to work through it but a month later it was clear Ewan had made his decision. Eve was his love and supported his career.

“They think he might be having a mid-life crisis and that is why he is pursuing his relationship with Mary at the expense of his family.”

Ewan and Eve have four daughters together, Clara, Esther, Anouk and Jamyan.

Earlier this week, 22-year-old Clara posted a photo of her mum with Ewan cropped out to Twitter, writing: “How frickin gorgeous is my mama?? Strongest, smartest most loving woman I know. My rock.”
