Ex-EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami on real-life friendships with co-stars

Former EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami has revealed which of his Walford co-stars he's still in touch with.

Davood played Kush Kazemi on the BBC soap for seven years, until the character was killed by villain Gray Atkins in 2021.

While there's no chance of Kush heading back to the Square, Davood told The Sun that he's still in touch with several of his former co-stars, including Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater), Diane Parish (Denise Fox) and James Bye (Martin Fowler).

"I worked closely with Lacey and she is a good friend," he shared, adding: "One of my only regrets about EastEnders is that I didn’t have more scenes with Diane. She’s amazing."

Davood and Martin recently reunited to film an episode of Pointless that will air later this year, with Martin sharing a sweet snap of the reunion on his Instagram page.

"Filmed our 2nd episode on #bbcpointlesscelebrities," he captioned the post. "Last time we were the last couple standing but didn't get that all important pointless answer!! See how we got on this time."

Davood is next set to guest star in Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise, which premieres tonight (February 24) on BBC One.

Kris Marshall will reprise his role as DI Humphrey Goodman in the news series, where he'll be tackling crime in the sleepy Devon town of Shipton Abbott.

Speaking about his new role, Davood told The Sun: "I’ve been the good guy for so many years, so it was a nice change to portray someone not so nice."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
