Yahoo News Ex-Emmerdale star denies claims he's given up acting
Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has hit back at claims that he's given up acting to become a professional racing driver.
Recent tabloid reports have suggested that Kelvin – who bowed out of his role as Andy Sugden last year – has left the acting world behind for good as he pursues his other passion for cars.
Since leaving Emmerdale, Kelvin has been focusing his efforts on rising up the racing rankings – competing in both the British Touring Cars league and the British GT .
However, Kelvin has now taken to Twitter to firmly deny that this is his sole purpose now – insisting that he is both an actor and a racing driver.

"Just to be crystal clear. I've not 'given up acting'", Kelvin said on Twitter yesterday (November 19).

Kelvin's tweet comes after he spoke about his Hollywood ambitions in a recent interview with The Mirror, revealing his plans to fly his family out to LA for pilot season next year.
"The dream is for the racing and acting to work side-by-side," he said. "We've already made plans for America. I'm going over in January for meetings but I will also look at places to stay.
"I'm in talks with some production companies in LA and have some great projects to look forward to next year."
But as for him popping back to the Dales anytime soon, Kelvin added: "Emmerdale is and always will be in my DNA.
"But whether I'm going back… Let's just say the people who are convinced I am have a crystal ball that I don't!"
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
