Former NASA engineer who had package stolen from his porch spends six months building glitter bomb ‘revenge parcel’

This is the ingenious tactic a former NASA engineer used to catch thieves who stole packages from his porch.

Mark Rober spent six months creating a fake package containing glitter and fart spray after a package was stolen from his porch.

The theft was caught on camera however police said they could not look into it.

He said in the video: “If you’ve been in a situation like this, you just feel violated.

"And when I took this to police, even with the video footage, they said it’s just not worth their time to look into it, so you also feel powerless.”

The video shows how he designed a new package containing glitter and fart spray.

Mr Rober used fine glitter that is hard to clear up and ensured that the fart spray was released five times, every 30 seconds.

In the package, he also added four phones to record the reaction of the thieves. It also meant that he could track where the packages ended up.

Mr Rober then shows some of the reactions of thieves who panic when the glitter is tossed everywhere.

Others were seen opening the package in their house, with one person smelling the spray and immediately taking the package outside.

According to CNN, around 26 million Americans say they have had a package stolen from their porch or doorstep during the holiday season.
