A "regal" Surrey cat who has been "inexplicably overlooked" is still seeking her forever home in time for Christmas.

Three-year-old Misty had sadly been a stray her entire life until she was rescued by Horley-based rescue centre Rescue Remedies in May 2023. Her time at the centre has given her time to trust again, and allowed her personality to blossom. Now all she needs is a 'forever home'.

This black and white feline is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Rescue Remedies has described Misty as being "inexplicably overlooked" by adopters, who have failed to notice that she is a cat full of love, affection and character.

Becca, a volunteer at Rescue Remedies described Misty as a "regal girl (who) absolutely adores affection and will be a lap cat for hours on end." Misty is said to love human affection, and will proudly peacock around the room until treats and pets come her way.

Whether it's from a stranger or a friend, Misty does not mind and will happily purr away when being cuddled. Sadly however, because of her past as a stray Misty is still understanding that cuddles and pets are safe, and so her future adopters may need to be patient with her on occasion and understand what she has been through, and why it may affect her reactions to humans.

With her sudden bursts of energy, Misty is desperate for some space to run around and play but is equally as desperate for a lap to claim as her own, no doubt once she's found it, she will let you know with the loving rumble of a purr.

The Rescue Remedies Team added "Misty would be an excellent addition to a single cat household whereby she can ‘lap up’ all of the attention and positively flourish. With a little patience and a lot of love, you’ll wonder why you didn’t adopt her sooner!"

Rescue Remedies has no upper age limit for people willing to adopt their animals, and allow some cats to be adopted into homes with already existing cats or dogs. But it is important to note that all adoptions are treated on a case-by-case basis, and the Horley-based rescue centre will always prioritise what they believe is the best interests of their cats.

Rescue Remedies kindly asks for a minimum adoption donation of £175, with all funds helping continue the organisation’s rescue work and aiding the animals in their care.
