Exact date DWP top up entering bank accounts next month
Millions of benefit claimants are set to receive a Christmas bonus off the DWP which will be entering bank accounts next month. Each year, £10 is paid out to UK residents on certain benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions.
No date has been set in stone confirmed - however the UK Government has advised that residents can expect the £10 to be paid within the 'first full week' of December. That could mean households won't be waiting very long.
The first day of December, December 1, falls on a Sunday and is less than two weeks away. Benefits are often paid on working week days, so the earliest you could expect the £10 payment is Monday, December 2.

The Government says on its website: "The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free £10 payment made before Christmas, paid to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week. This is normally the first full week of December."
The payment was introduced in 1972 at £10, which would be worth more than £100 in today’s value. However, the amount has remained virtually unchanged for just over five decades, drawing much criticism from benefit claimants and charities, reports Express.co.uk.
An online petition is calling on the Government to permanently increase the payment in line with inflation, which would bring it to £115.08, according to the Bank of England’s calculator. The petition, started by Shona McMahon in 2023, has gained more than 20,000 signatures so far.
