Exact time gritters will hit the roads tonight amid -3.3C forecast
Gritters are due to hit streets across Warwickshire early this evening. Following the snow fall earlier, it is forecast that temperatures are set to plummet tonight (November 19).
According to Warwickshire County Council Highways, the minimum road surface temperature could be as low as -3.3C. This, team says, brings a 'risk of ice countywide.'
Because of this, the county's fleet of gritting machines are set to hit the streets at 6.30pm. There has been no official word, as yet, from Coventry City Council in regards to its gritting plan.

However, with temperatures set to plunge, its fleet are expected to be out this evening on the main roads around the city. Warwickshire's fleet of gritters have some brilliant names.
A competition was held in 2021 to come up with names for the vehicles and the winners included Usain Salt, Professor Chris Gritty, Gritta Thunberg and Snowbi-Gone Kenobi. The gritters are not just used when there is snow.
According to the latest Met Office forecast, tomorrow is set to be cold but there will be no snow. However, there is a chance of some 'wintry flurries' on Thursday and Friday.
