Exact time gritters will hit streets tonight amid UK snow storm forecast

A fleet of gritters are due to hit the streets of Warwickshire in a matter of hours. The county's highways team has confirmed that gritting will start on roads at around 6.30pm tonight (November 28).

It follows a chilly day which started with thick frost and icy stretches across the county. In Nuneaton, a large patch of black ice left cars 'spinning and sliding'

Police were forced to close part of Gipsy Lane. County-wide, police issued an appeal for motorists to drive carefully following reports of a number of collisions.

According to the Met Office forecast, the colder weather is set to continue into the early evening. But tomorrow (November 29) is set to be much milder.

However, a long range forecast for the UK, predicts that snow could be making a comeback. WX Charts says that a hefty band of snow will arrive from December 5 through to December 9.

It will sweep much of the UK, stretching from Scotland to the North East, North West, the South East and the East Coast encompassing East Anglia.
