Zoe Ball will be returning to BBC Radio 2 sooner than many thought. Bosses have officially confirmed the return of popular DJ, after a high-profile absence.

Zoe has been away from the airwaves for several weeks, leaving fans puzzled about her sudden disappearance. However, listeners can look forward to hearing Zoe's voice again from Monday morning, as schedules confirm she's making a comeback to the studio.

The listings indicate that Zoe will be hosting her Maximum Music Monday show from 6:30am. This will be the first time Zoe has been on air since August 8.

After returning from a holiday break, the 53 year old DJ left once more, causing confusion among her fans.

Scott Mills, another BBC Radio star, had been filling in for Zoe, but now her team are reportedly thrilled that she's finally back in the hot seat.

An insider told The Sunday Mirror: "Zoe's been through a lot lately but she's battled through and is keen to get back to work. Scott's done a great job but the team are looking forward to welcoming Zoe back."

When Scott unexpectedly took over Zoe's slot last month, he told listeners: "If you've just put us on this morning, it's Scott Mills in for Zoe for the next few weeks. I'm sending you all my love Zo as are the team."

Zoe's return follows news that she sold her stunning £2million countryside house and moved closer to her ex Fatboy Slim.

A source revealed that she has swapped her rural Sussex pad - which boasted a swimming pool and tennis courts - for the more "lively" surroundings of Brighton and Hove.
