Example shares story of fans who married after meeting at his gig and named son after him

Example may be a musician first and foremost but it seems he could also claim to be a matchmaker, albeit an accidental one.

On Wednesday morning, the 38-year-old shared a message he'd received from a fan who alleges to have met their wife thanks to one of the Kickstarts hitmaker's gigs.

On top of that, they said their child even shares a name with the musician, whose real name is Elliot Gleave.

"How’s this for a lovely story ???," the musician wrote as he shared the message screenshots.

The fan's message read: "Eight years ago today you played on the main stage at Creamfields! You asked all the girls to get on someone’s shoulder and this is how I met my future wife and best mate.

"We now have a five year old who we called Elliott, there wasn’t any other names in the mix! His initials are also EG! Hope one day we get to meet you… slim chance but you never know! X."

In his response, Example suggested a meet up at the same festival next year before questioning which spelling variation of his name they had decided on.

"All are acceptable but Elliot is the best," he jested.

Example himself is a father to two boys who also share his initials, Evander, five, and Ennio, two, who he shares with his Australia model wife Erin McNaught.

They tied the knot in May 2013, six months after their November 2012 engagement. The family currently resides in Brisbane.
