Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway will feature some major changes when the show returns to ITV later this month.

Of course, this year's series will be without a live studio audience, but now we know exactly how they intend to tackle such an issue.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy for issue 6 of our Apple+ magazine, the Geordie duo revealed plans to install an interactive "virtual wall", so the audience can still remain a vital part of the show.

"Such a lot of this show is about the audience," said Dec. "So we have researched ways, and are coming up with ways, to do a much more interactive, virtual wall, more than any other show has done.

"Our audience on the night, on the virtual wall, will be an interactive part of the show… you don't get that instant feedback, but that's what we're working on, on our virtual wall, to try and cut down delays to an absolute minimum and make it much more of a two-way exchange with our audience."

In terms of changes to the show's content, And and Dec also teased the introduction of a new I'm a Celebrity, Get Out of Me Ear sketch, where celebrities wear an earpiece and are directed by the presenters.

"We did Sir Mo Farah after he came out of the castle. We did Mo, who was interviewing for a part-time nanny – or a manny," said Dec.

Ant elaborated: "There's a moment in the Mo one where he's showing this manny or nanny around the house, and then we said to him, just say, 'This is the en suite bathroom where the kids might want to have a bath at bathtime.' So, he opens the door. But we've placed in there this 70-year-old granny, who's having a bubble bath."

Dec added: "It was actually Mo's aunty, who he didn't know was going to be there."
