The return of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway is just around the corner, but will fans of the beloved duo ever get to see a comeback of some of their older shows? Say, PokerFace?
In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy for our digital magazine's sixth issue, Ant and Dec reflected on the '00s gameshow, revealing that there has actually been "renewed interest" in the series of late.
"PokerFace is interesting because we did two series of it, which were successful, and it sold around the world. And then we came off, and we didn't do any more, because we gave away a million pounds to the winner – actually, that's probably a bit high," Ant explained.
"So if you were to bring it back, you'd probably lower the prize money, yet still have all the brilliant gameplay."
Ant went on to reveal that he and Dec have been in talks about PokerFace making a possible comeback, saying that the format has been "fiddled with...to make it more current."
"It's kind of a combination between a quiz show and a reality show," he continued. "People are still interested in PokerFace, which is great to know.
"You might see it back on the screens – not necessarily with us hosting it, but, you know, it might make its way back onto the telly."
Hopeful that PokerFace might one day get a new "lease of life" on the likes of Netflix or Amazon Prime, Ant and Dec cautioned that if that were to happen, they probably wouldn't be the ones fronting it.
"We're 100% ITV," Dec explained. "We're exclusive to ITV. All of our stuff is with them. So no, we couldn't do anything presently."
Fans of Ant and Dec's extensive ITV catalogue needn't worry, though, with the pair acknowledging how "lucky" they are to be working with the channel.
"We're so lucky at the moment that we've got Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain's Got Talent, and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here – three of the biggest entertainment hits in the country," Dec said.
"So, you know, we can't grumble at that, really."
Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway returns Saturday, February 20 at 7pm on ITV.
