EXCLUSIVE: Che Chesterman Thinks Adele Will Laugh About His Hello Lyrics Fail
With Adele set to descend on the X Factor this weekend for a performance that EVERYONE has been waiting for, we couldn’t help but wonder if Che Chesterman - he who forgot the lyrics to Hello - is worried about coming face-to-face with the singer.
Well, luckily, we had the chance to ask him directly at the X Factor final red carpet event in London on Thursday and it seems Che isn’t worried about upsetting the biggest star on the planet.
“I didn’t want to ruin her song, she’s amazing. I think she’ll be alright about it,” Che told us.
And his mentor and pal of Adele, Nick Grimshaw, was equally confident that the down-to-earth singer won’t be too upset about the mishap.
Grimmy added, “She’ll have a laugh. She’ll probably like it! You don’t want someone to do your song better.”
Che is one of three finalists in this weekend’s live final showcase at Wembley Arena but he admits he was worried he would be sent home after his forgetful rendition of Hello a couple of weeks ago.
He said, “I think getting through on the Sunday after I forgot the lyrics to Hello, that was the most relieved I’ve ever been. That was a horrible moment. The biggest song on the planet and I forget the lyrics.”
Adele is set to perform her smash hit number one single on the ITV show on Sunday and it’s safe to say this has been a moment show boss Simon Cowell has been praying for.
“It took me a while to make up my mind whether we wanted Adele or not,” he quipped.
“Are you kidding? When we got the news and I had to keep it quiet last weekend, it was the best news I’ve had all year. She’s going to cap off what’s going to be an amazing weekend.
“It’s Adele, Coldplay and One Direction, the biggest artists in the world, it’s going to be sensational.”
No pressure then, Adele.
