Exclusive: Hollyoaks casts Rhiannon Clements as Cormac Ranger's daughter Summer

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks bosses are planning big trouble for a trio of villagers as Cormac Ranger's daughter joins the show, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.

Show chiefs have cast Rhiannon Clements in the role of Summer Ranger, who's sure to leave Brody Hudson, Felix Westwood and Warren Fox very worried in the weeks ahead.

Viewers know that Brody, Felix and Warren are hiding a huge secret, as their recent showdown with Cormac at the garage led to the villain being put in a coma.

Warren was responsible for the revenge attack and is determined to ensure that Brody and Felix keep quiet about what happened.

In upcoming scenes, Summer arrives in the village looking for her father – much to the concern of Brody, Felix and Warren.

A Hollyoaks spokesperson exclusively told Digital Spy: "Summer is angelic on the outside, but a mischievous minx on the inside. Summer is a bright, effortlessly cool tomboy, but when she wants something, she's capable of going to extreme lengths to get it.

"Summer is sure to give frenemy Sienna a run for her money in life – and maybe love..."

Rhiannon also told us: "I was absolutely buzzing and really grateful in our current climate to get the opportunity to join the Hollyoaks family.

"Summer is fun, sarcastic and I love the zest she brings. She's all sweetness and light but she also has a nasty bite, which is going to be brilliant to play.

"Once Summer sets her mind on something, be it an idea, a plan or a person, she will do everything she can to make things go her way. Also, I'm incredibly jealous of her wardrobe!"

Summer will make her first appearance on screen in November. She starts a small and quirky baking business in the Grande Bazaar, which gives her a place right at the heart of the village.

Rhiannon has previously appeared on screen in Doctor Who and The Other One, as well as featuring in Wuthering Heights at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Hollyoaks' 25th anniversary celebrations air all this week on Channel 4 and E4.
