Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks star Rhiannon Clements has addressed fan theories suggesting that Summer Ranger and Grace Black could have a romantic connection.
Viewers have seen the pair develop a solid friendship over the past few weeks, leading to some speculation on social media that it could turn into more one day.
Summer has already confirmed that gender isn't a consideration for her when looking for a romantic partner. Meanwhile, Grace – who's currently dating Felix Westwood – has had previous romances with Kim Butterfield and Farrah Maalik.
Speaking in an exclusive video chat with Digital Spy, Rhiannon said of Summer and Grace: "Never say no to anything – I think it'd definitely be an interesting dynamic.
"What is interesting about Grace and Summer is they do have this 'no filter' friendship, that Summer has not found in anyone that she's met in the village yet.
"She's obviously moved in with Grace. It'll be interesting to see what happens, you never know. I think she's got a lot on her plate now to be looking elsewhere, though!"
On representing Summer's sexuality on screen, Rhiannon continued: "Anything towards representation on TV – regardless of what the protected characteristic is – is a step in the right direction and there needs to be more of it on TV.
"What's great about Summer is that there is no label for her – and I think that's really interesting, especially when a storyline or character is not stereotyped by a protected characteristic.
"I think that's really important and something that has been really well done, especially by Hollyoaks in so many storylines and characters."
Tuesday's E4 first look episode of Hollyoaks (February 23) sees Summer out for revenge after finally getting proof that Warren Fox was responsible for attacking her father Cormac last year.
Summer's discovery sparks a terrible chain of events that ultimately culminates in her shooting Sienna Blake.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
