Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Kieron Richardson and Billy Price have revealed to Digital Spy they pranked Hollyoaks cast members about Sid's death.

The latest E4 episode on Wednesday (March 17) revealed that Sid actually survived Victor stabbing him earlier this month, meaning that he witnessed Ollie and Ste taking down drugs boss Victor once and for all.

While viewers got a hint fairly soon after Sid was supposedly killed off that not all was as it seemed, the Hollyoaks cast weren't quite as lucky.

"We were telling other people in the cast [he'd died] who didn't believe us," Kieron recalled. "They were like, 'No, they would never do that to Billy.'"

Billy then admitted: "I'm sorry guys, I'm terrible with that! I couldn't carry it on. I had to say, 'No, I'm only joking'. But I got a call from Gary, who is one of the big dogs in [production company] Lime, saying, 'Oh, just by the way, you're not actually dying!'... I kinda knew from the get go, it was [a twist], but it was privilege to die and come back to life!"

Fans already melted down with joy when Hollyoaks released a teaser hinting that Sid was still alive — now Kieron and Billy think Sid's actual reappearance will be bigger than one of the most anticipated events in pop culture.

"I think they'll lose their mind. I think they're going to lose their mind because Billy is probably one of the most popular actors in the show now, who the audience absolutely love," the Ste actor noted. "For them to feel like he's been taken away from them, it's going to cut really deep.

"So, the fact that he's then going to appear at some point in the future, I think, it's going to go crazy. It's a bit like One Direction splitting up and then all of a sudden, they get back together!"

Billy modestly quipped: "I don't know about that!"
