Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has revealed Leah Patterson-Baker's reaction to the devastating news that she has been conned.

This week's episodes on Channel 5 see Leah's dreams suffer a heartbreaking setback as Susie McAllister flees from Summer Bay with her life savings.

Leah and her partner Justin Morgan joined forces to raise $90,000 to put a deposit down on a house and handed the money over to Susie, who was posing as a real estate consultant.

Susie will now do a runner with her ill-gotten gains, leaving no trace behind and little hope that Leah and Justin will ever get their money back.

Speaking to Digital Spy about Leah's terrible time, Ada explained: "She is humiliated, disappointed and heartbroken. All of their dreams have just gone and all their hard work.

"They had this big, bright future ahead of them and it was just taken away. So she's very angry about it.

"Initially she does feel powerless, but then that does stir her on to not give up and try and find Susie. I think it is just a way of her dealing with the hurt and the loss of her dreams."

To make matters worse, Leah and Justin both start to blame each other as tensions rise in the wake of Susie's departure.

Ada continued: "Leah feels betrayed and sad over that, because Leah and Justin tend to always be on the same page. Justin is her best friend and her best friend isn't thinking the same way as she is, so it is really sad that they are always fighting.

"It does look like it is going to tear them apart – it may!"

Ada confirmed that she always knew when filming this storyline that Susie could not be trusted. The plot began earlier in the year, when Susie met John Palmer and started to charm him for her own benefit.

She said: "Obviously it was too good to be true. It is a really great story to be told for John's character I think, because this happens all the time as well, where people get conned through the internet.

"Leah also can never catch a break! It's sad. I think it is really nice seeing Leah happy and obviously nice to play as well, so I was sad for Leah that she was going through all of this again."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK), with first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
