Married At First Sight Australia season 10 has kicked off with a bang on UK screens as the first episode saw a bride and groom clash on their wedding day just hours after meeting at the altar.

One of the show’s relationship experts, Mel Schilling, has promised fans can expect even more explosive scenes as the show continues.

Chatting exclusively with Digital Spy, Schilling hinted the group of MAFS couples will face more "conflict" later in the season.

The MAFS star, who also features on the UK version of the show, has revealed upcoming episodes will see more drama unfold within the group.

"I'd love to say that all the drama is over in one go and now it's going to be smooth sailing but it’s not," Schilling laughed. "[Episode 1] is a taste of things to come."

She added: "This season is a little bit different to other seasons I think. For example, last year we had all of that specific drama between a couple of players in the group and that's what a lot of the storylines are sort of centred around.

"But really with our group of couples this year, the conflict and tricky dynamics are spread across the entire group and pretty much are consistent throughout the entire experiment."

Comparing Married At First Sight to other dating-based reality shows, Schilling insisted it stands out from the crowd and detailed how viewers often enjoy seeing the participants being held to account by the experts.

"What's different here and what our audience really love is that they get to see us bring consequences for people's behaviour," she explained. "They get to see us give feedback or to confront people with the impact of their behaviour and their words on other people.

"They also get to see, in many ways, their own relationships playing out on screen and they can really relate to that and get very heavily invested."
