Exclusive: Neighbours' Rebekah Elmaloglou on future for Terese and Glen

Neighbours spoilers follow.

Terese Willis' life is in danger in the Neighbours finale, after struggling following her separation from Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and relapsing with alcohol.

But, as we hope that Terese is okay, the actor behind the character has teased a possible future for Terese and Glen, dashing Paul's desires to get back together with his wife and try marriage counselling.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Rebekah Elmaloglou said: "She feels very comfortable with Glen and she's able to have a laugh and feel more like herself. Plus, they both share the same addiction so he knows exactly what she is going through."

"It would certainly shake things up [if the two characters got together], which would be fun to play," she added, teasing that it could be a plot line in later episodes of the long-running soap.

Her relationship with Paul is certainly an obstacle to anyone wanting Terese to find love with Glen, especially after his manipulations and the separation has led Terese to use alcohol again as her "crutch when things are tough".

But, Elmaloglou said that Terese is "incredibly angry" with Paul at the moment: "Over their relationship, they have developed deep feelings for each other so when Paul does something that hurts her, she really feels it."

In the finale, which aired earlier today (December 9), Harlow attempts to show Terese a report that suggests Glen is hiding something but Terese refuses to look at it, leading to a precarious accident that sees her hanging off a roof by her fingers.

Elmaloglou said of the character: "After being continually disappointed, I think she realises there could be something in the report that she doesn't want to know and she just can't deal with it."

Terese has had a long and difficult history and many Neighbours fans just want her to be happy – but is that with Glen? We'll simply have to wait until next year to find out.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
