Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson has told Digital Spy that she wants Bea Nilsson and Levi Canning to finally become a couple.

Viewers know that Bea has had feelings for Levi (Richie Morris) for a few months now, but they're seemingly no closer to getting together.

In next week's episodes on Channel 5, Levi gets some competition when Bea befriends newcomer Nathan 'Packo' Packard, played by former Home and Away star Jackson Gallagher.

Speaking to Digital Spy about Bea's slow progress with Levi, Bonnie explained: "It's been a confusing rollercoaster for their relationship. It's very up and down, but they do have a very, very strong bond.

"Over the past few months of getting to know each other, they've found a trust for each other and a great friendship. I think there's a bit of a fear that, if they do admit their feelings, they might ruin that friendship.

"Bea is also getting sick of waiting, because she has put herself out there a lot. Levi is smart enough to realise that Bea is into him – it's not that hard! She's tired of being let down and embarrassed, so she feels ready to move on and be with somebody.

"There's a moment with Nathan that really switches things up for Bea, because all she wants is a confident man to tell her how he feels about her. That's what she wants from Levi.

"Nathan has confidence and tells Bea how he feels about her instantly. He tells her that she's gorgeous and that's something very special for a woman to hear."

However, in a new story twist, Neighbours fans will see that Nathan is one of the thugs who attacked Levi when he was younger. Nathan has come to Ramsay Street after Kyle Canning made contact with him, wanting him to meet Levi and help provide some closure.

Asked whether Bea would be so interested if she knew who Nathan really was, Bonnie laughed: "Absolutely not, no! As we've seen through the years with Bea, she's very loyal and protective. She doesn't want anyone messing with the people she loves.

"Bea has been there the whole time, supporting Levi over the attack. For her, it would be so upsetting for her to find out. She does have a bit of a crush on this guy, but the fact that he beat up Levi could ruin everything for her.

"When she finds out, which she will, it's not going to end well."

As Nathan has changed a lot since his younger years, one big question will be whether Bea is willing to forgive him or whether her loyalties could switch back to Levi.

Bonnie added: "Bea would be pretty hurt that Nathan hasn't told her the real reason he was in Erinsborough. She'd have to go through a process in order to forgive him.

"With Bea and Levi, I love the fact that it's such a slow-burning relationship. As Bonnie, I think it'd be a nice pay-off for Bea to end up with the person who she's liked this whole time. They have got such a strong friendship.

"I love working with Richie and with Jackson too. They're both amazing people, but I think Levi is the one for Bea… hopefully!"

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
