Neighbours' Bonnie Anderson has revealed that she lied to all of her co-stars while she was competing on this year's The Masked Singer in Australia.

Known for playing Bea Nilsson on the Ramsay Street soap, the star dressed up as Bushranger on the singing competition series and impressed everyone so much that she won the whole season.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Bonnie confirmed that, although her co-stars heavily suspected her, they were kept in the dark until the final unmasking.

"I was getting so good at lying! I was starting to get worried about how good I was at lying!" she said.

"They all knew that it was me for sure – they were hassling me left, right and centre! I'd walk down a hallway and everyone would be singing the songs that my character on Masked Singer was singing!

"Schedules were changing all the time too, so it was super hard to hide it from them, but I just denied, denied, denied the whole time! I did what I had to do. It was a good pay-off to win it after all the lying. It was great!"

There was one Neighbours actor who did know she was on the show: Rob Mills, who played the villainous Finn Kelly until early this year. And there was a good reason why she reached out, as he competed the previous season and finished as runner-up.

"He was actually the only person who probably knew about it," Bonnie said. "I wanted to talk to him about it and get some tips.

"He didn't know what character I was, although he soon worked it out!

"I did have a chat with him about certain things. He's like a big brother, so it was a really cool moment. It was cool that I got one up on him – he came second in his season and I came first!"

Elsewhere in the interview, Bonnie discussed the love triangle involving her character Bea and rival love interests Levi Canning and Nathan 'Packo' Packard.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
