Exclusive: Neighbours star on Ned Willis story ideas he's pitched

Neighbours actor Ben Hall has lifted the lid on some unrealised storylines for his character Ned Willis.

Catching up for an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, the soap star was asked if he'd ever pitched ideas to those in high places.

He confirmed he had, before setting the scene: "I'll give you the ones that I don't think are ever going to make it onto the screen!

"When Ned was working at The Hive and doing all this art stuff, I suggested a storyline where he started doing some street art again in secret.

"He'd become Erinsborough's answer to Banksy and nobody would know who it was, but his work would start to get a lot of support," Hall explained.

"He'd get an underground following and start making massive money! For once Ned would actually be successful – usually his endeavours fail in some way! I thought that would be quite fun."

As for another as-of-yet unsuccessful pitch, the Ned actor threw a curveball towards producers, but one that certainly has legs if you ask us.

"The other one I suggested not long ago was, we have a police station, hospital, doctors, so why don't we have a volunteer fire service? I thought him and Kyle could volunteer there and there'd be storylines there," he noted.

"We'd probably be rescuing lots of cats out of trees and things like that, but I thought that'd be a fun storyline, especially them doing the training together."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and weekdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
