Minor Real Housewives of Miami season 4 spoilers follow.
Adriana de Moura has chatted to Digital Spy about the return of The Real Housewives of Miami after eight years off the air.
The cult classic Real Housewives franchise is back on hayu in the UK and Peacock in the US, thanks in no small part due to a passionate fanbase who have never stopped campaigning to executive producer Andy Cohen for its return over the years.
This week, the fans finally got what they've waited for for almost a decade when Real Housewives of Miami dropped the first two episodes of a brand new season – and the show hasn't missed a beat.
We recently chatted with Adriana de Moura about all-things Real Housewives of Miami, including how important the fan campaign has been for a revival.
"I'm so grateful to the fans, for the loyalty, for them expressing [their support] and being so vocal, extremely grateful," she told us. "Andy [Cohen, producer] has always loved Miami. It wasn't really Andy that cancelled the show [in 2013]. That was not him… that was not his sole decision.
"Andy is one of the biggest supporters of many. I'm happy that we're back. Andy's happy that we're back."
The first episode of season four, '¡Bienvenidos! Same Beaches, New Shade', opens with words from the late, great Mama Elsa, followed by the returning OG cast members getting back together for a lively luncheon.
"It felt so good," Adriana recalled of the cast lunch. "It was just like an old friends reunion. It felt amazing. It was great to be back on camera with them. We have remained friends throughout the years, through funerals, divorces, everything.
"It was great that we were back. It felt amazing, actually."
While RHOM does mix in a heaping festive helping of nostalgia in its cast along with some exciting newbies, Adriana doesn't necessarily back the idea of other legacy cast members – Joanna Krupa or Lea Black, to name two – coming back in the future.
"The most significant OGs are here," she said. "Alexia, myself, Marysol, Lisa Hochstein. We four are pretty much the core of Miami. I think we're good in terms of OG representation."
