Essex has a wide range of house prices, where you can buy a property for well under the national average - or really splurge out on a multi-million pound home. One street where you can't find a home for under £2 million is Forest Lane in Chigwell, and there are many reasons why.

Forest Lane is a gorgeous road in Chigwell, which is part of the so-called ‘golden triangle’ of wealthy locations along with Loughton and Buckhurst Hill. The area is home to footballers, TOWIE stars and Lord Alan Sugar himself.

The Essex street is very exclusive - and there is no question as to why. Forest Lane is often named one of the most expensive roads in Essex, full of sprawling estates and expensive cars parked on the drive.

Many homes have splashy features, such as gorgeous balconies, swimming pools and huge gardens. If this sounds like the life for you, house prices in Forest Lane have an overall average of £2,635,000 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

Chigwell is not just popular with mere mortals - footballers such as legend Bobby Moore, Andy Carroll and Kurt Zouma have all owned properties in Chigwell. It has a bustling town centre, complete with a viral restaurant that celebs often frequent.

Turkish restaurant Sheesh is one of the biggest celebrity hotspots in Essex, and one of the best-known outside London. Customers over the last few years have included Little Mix, Cheryl Cole, Olly Murs, Tyson Fury, Harry Styles, Harry Kane, Joey Essex, Harry Redknapp, Katie Price and Ray Winstone.

To the usual Chigwell residents, a huge perk of living there is the town's commuter value. Thanks to its close proximity to central London it takes just 30 minutes to get to Liverpool Street on the Central Line from Chigwell station.

However, the area also has plenty of rural appeal to people looking for the best of both worlds. The town's excellent transport links, proximity to London, and its reputation for being a safe and desirable place to live contribute to the strong demand for properties in Chigwell.
