Exeter e-bike rider left with head injury after fall

A man in his 30s is being treated in hospital after coming off his electric bike along a busy road in Exeter. The road was closed for five hours while police awaited confirmation of the severity of his injuries.

The incident took place along Exeter Road near Topsham Road and First Avenue yesterday, November 9, at 12.20pm. Widespread traffic was caused in surrounding areas until the road reopened at 5.30pm.

Police have confirmed it is not believed any other vehicles were involved and that the man has not suffered life-changing injuries.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "A male sustained a head injury. He was transferred to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

"Police kept the road closed until the severity of his injuries was confirmed."
