Exeter flat hit with 'serious nuisance' police closure order
Police have issued a closure order for a property in Exeter to stamp out disorder and criminal behaviour. A notice has been taped to the door of 1A Taunton Close in St Thomas.
It comes after Devon and Cornwall Police satisfied a district judge that a closure order under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 was necessary.
The order says the premises (including the block, communal areas and garden) are now subject to the order. District Judge Stuart Smith was satisfied that a person has engaged in or (if the order was not made) likely to engage in disorderly, offensive or criminal behaviour on the premises."

Other reasons stated in the order include a risk of "serious nuisance" to the public or disorder near the premises. The order is needed to prevent the behaviour from continuing, recurring or occurring.
The order lasts for three months. It does not apply to flats 1, 2 and 2A in the building, the landlord, emergency services or guests of those flats.
It says a breach of the order could lead to up to 51 weeks in prison, a fine or both.
