Exeter man, 23, found dead in hotel room
A family have been left devastated following the sudden death of a 23-year-old Exeter man found passed away in his hotel room. Kieran Allison was staying at The Gissons Hotel and Restaurant in Kennford, near Exeter, when he could no longer be reached by phone.
An inquest which recently opened into his death at Exeter Coroner's Court heard he was found unresponsive by staff on September 13. The short hearing heard, Kieran, who was born in Exeter and lived in the city, was single and unemployed.
Alison Longhorn, area coroner for Devon said: "The circumstances are friends and family had been trying to telephone Kieran and realised his telephone was turned off which was unusual. Family were concerned so they contacted staff at the hotel where Kieran was staying.

"Staff went to his room and knocked on the door. There was no answer so due to concerns from the family they entered the room using a master key and found Kieran deceased in the room. Presently, the medical cause of death is not yet established."
The inquest was adjourned for a full hearing to be held on a later yet to be confirmed date.
Paying tribute to Kieran after the hearing, his uncle, Stephen Allison, said: "He will be missed by a lot of people. He struggled with ADHD and we believe he made a silly decision to end his own life at The Gissons Hotel.
"He was brought up by my mum, Christine Allison, who is in bits, as are the whole family. We are all struggling to get our heads around it. Rest in peace Kieran."
An online fundraiser has been set up by Kieran's best friend Connor Gill to help raise money towards the funeral costs.
The fundraiser page states: "His family are devastated, as are his close friends. Please could anyone make what donations they can to give Kieran the final send off he deserves."
